OK a question from a noob veteran (noob = never owned a Buell; veteran = rode for 20y until a nasty wreck 2 years ago). I am absolutely convinced I want a Ulysses and found one in my budget, but it is several hours away. I have always purchased new, so this is my first used bike. Should I have the seller deliver to a dealership that is local to him for a check? My challenge with this choice is I don't have a solid recommendation in the area and it would be a serious inconvenience for the seller. Or, should I travel 4 hours to inspect? My challenges for this one is that I am not overly mechanically inclined, don't know Buells (so what should I look for, "normal problems", and don't want to waste a day on his word alone. Come on oh wise ones, your sage advice is appreciated.

Good questions. Based on your profile location you can likely get some help from some locals and you may be able to get a Uly owning Badweber at the prospective buyers location to give the bike a once over.

Put up as many of the details as you can, and that you're comfortable with, and you will get some responses.

On the surface that's a really good deal -- especially if you get the 4 years of extended service too.

It cannot be very far from me and I could look at it for you or I could go with you to look at it. Cary to Charlotte is 160 miles (I do it twice a week).

Wow what a kind offer! I am traveling out of state until Monday. Do want me to shoot you a private message to negotiate your "fee" this week or to determine your availability for next week?

"fee" : ) No fees. I'll be gone for the next 5 or 6 days myself, but we can work something out.
