I just recently received my cable from American Sport Bike.
I downloaded ECMspy and Megalog viewer.
I'm able to connect to my Uly and see real time outputs on both the overview and ecm runtime windows. I can start and stop a log by clicking on the floppy icon.Later though I can't find the log. There is no C\program files\ecmspy\megalog file anywhere on my computer. I am anxious to use this datalogging feature to find my Uly's intermittent problem but until I can find and view the log I'm up the creek.
Any help would be appreciated. I hate commuting in my car!

when you downloaded ecmspy, did you place it in My Computer:\C:\Program Files ?
If ECMSpy is in Program Files (or wherever it is you placed it on you computer), then there should be a set of files that looks like this:

ecmspy

Kind of hard to read, but one of those folders is Megalog, where your dated file should be residing. Do you click off the datalog "floppy with a red slash thru it" button when u r finished logging?

I opened up the Ecmspy file location and did'nt find a meagalog folder. I have subfolders labled:
eeprom
help
Kennfeld
languages and
pdf
If I do a search over the entire computer I get no matches to ecmspy\programfiles\megalog
I did click the floppy and I did see the red x change to a green checkmark.During this time I see a notation at the bottom of the window saying the log has opened and then closed.
Maybe it installs and runs differently on Vista?
I'll try more tomorrow. I have to turn in early to get ready for my commute time in my cage tomorrow.

I finally got the megalog folder to show up.It was a "hidden" folder in the directory. I only had time for one ride but the data logging worked as advertised. My bike did its "hiccup" problem a few times. What I think I see on the megalog are some sharp drops to near 0 volts of the TPS signal while I was maintaining a steady cruising rpm of 3k. If the tps did this ,it seems perhaps the ecm might respond by shutting down the fuel injectors and if the drop out was long enough the motor would die.
Does that sound like a possibility. Any history of TPS failures?

bear,
sounds like we may have the same problem. and from reading similar posts sounds like a common problem for injected buells. i just posted "cutting out" for my 09 uly. it coughs, spits, farts and finally takes off when i open the throttle suddenly. the dealer did a reset of what they called the computer, am assuming that must be the famous tps you refer to. its better now but still scares me to death in crisis situations so it doesnt give me a warm fuzzy feeling.
i gather from other conversations the "ECMspy" is a program you can download which with proper cable you can interface with a computer and see whats going on in the bike. Can you direct me to a source of those goodies? someone else said the website was closed.

John/Gringo, '09 Buells are outside ECM Spy software's development.
I've read of work-a-rounds here. I'm ridin' an '04, but doesn't read/skim like a simple task on later bikes to me.
It's a tool/gift-in-software for earlier FI Buells (want a 'clean' copy, PM me).
