What size Hex do I need to remove the cap screw in the bottom on the fork (the one sealed with crush washers)

I knwo it has to be long but not suer of the size.

I'm fighting that myself right now. A 5mm fits it best. Mine is frozen. It's a long reach down, a socket is too big to clear the access hole, and the one 5mm I can find right now barely reaches. Good luck with yours!

Are you replacing the item referred to as a "support ring"? The service manual says to replace it. Dealer gave me a quote of ~$45 each!!! It's a metal washer - I don't see the point!
