I know you give up something for performance. I rerouted the oil breathers, installed K&N filter and Elderbrock muffler. I love the sound and running above 3K but between 2K and 3K sounds sick, runs bad, jerky and rough. It is tough to cruise in the subdivision 25mph to the main road. Is this just a "live with" issue? Someone mentioned the height of the velocity stack can change the area of good running? I tried the Techlusion adjustment for 2wks...great for top end but no help between 2-3 and cold starts where terrible! So I might believe this is a fuel issue of too much until above 3K.
Please point me in the right direction.

What success have you had with Map changing? And with what Method?

Did you do a TPS/AFV reset after the mods? This is a must do item when ever you install performance mods. If you don't already have ECM Spy and cable you should get it. (Cheaper than taking it to the dealer for the resets.) What year is the bike? (Your profile still has the P3 listed.)

No, it's not. The TPS has nothing to to with this all and AFV will be adjusted automatically as needed.

Really? My service manual and instruction sheet for the race ECM must be wrong then.

Do you see a newly installed ECM mentioned? I don't. So no need for a TPS reset.

I agree and the bike is a 2008 XB9SX. So the Service manual states there is no TPS
reset!

No Knowledge=No ECMSpy ware. When the Spyware came out I jumped on board by way of the PDA. Made the hook-up and opened the ECM. Found out the limit of the PDA!
After the cash output for PDA,Cables, and hours of effort..terrible results. Not ready to spend $$$ for a large learning curve with small or disasterous results.

have you tried to check timing? most bikes from factory are a little too much advanced. Make sure you are tdc. then adjust your static timing to advance(clockwise) a few degrease or retard(counterclockwise). I did this on my o5 xb9sx and have had great output in my low rpm range I have actually been able to cruise in 5gear at 30mph. You should also notice your bike will run alot smoother throughout the rpm range maybe losing a very small amount of top end but shit your riding a buell. not made to race straight lines just built to murder the curves.

oops forgot to mention I moved mine 2 notches advanced(clockwise). So that is about 6deg. Each notch is 3deg. You should not have to reset tps since this is static timing. not what the ecm has programmed as a map.

I would like to add that AJ's bike is one of the sweetest sounding XB9's I've ever heard. He must be doing SOMETHING right...

These are ALL great suggestions..BUT my 2008 does not allow manual TPS or timing adjustment! Cranking position sensor is bolted in one place and TPS reset every start up...Damn Buell is not making this easy...Reliable but difficult. And now i Read ECMSpy has been shut down by a strong suggestion? and those who have hacked say the 08 takes a longer route to change.
