Hey everyone, I have a 2003 XB9R with about 48,000 miles on it. I am noticing some issues here and there as this thing ages, but one of the bigger ones just reared its ugly head. If I turn the ignition on, then flip off the kill switch, the fuel pump primes as usual. However, if I apply either front or rear brake while the pump is running, it stops immediately. Then, the bike won't start, doesn't even crank. I must enable the kill switch, turn off the ignition, then turn the key again, and flip the kill switch off to get it to start again. If I do not apply the brake during start-up, the bike runs great...until I get a mile down the road and touch the brakes for the first time, then it kills the engine instantly. I must turn the kill switch on then off, and the ignition off then on to get it to restart. This will happen again if I touch the OTHER brake, front or rear, which ever I haven't used yet. After the bike kills once for the front brake and once for the rear, I can cram on the brakes all I want the rest of the ride with no affect on the engine. O yes, I repeat, after the first kill with each brake, it will kill no more. I have no trouble codes flashing on my CEL, and no other performance-related issues. 2003 XB9R approx. 48,000 miles K&N PowerCommander II "High Performance" O2 sensor Modified Jardine RT-1 exhaust (duplicated in welded stainless steel) I have considered unhooking my PCII, but have not had the time or facilities, have to wait till next weekend. Could it be the ECM? A short somewhere? My sister had a short in her jeep, when she turned on the left turn signal the radio blinked on and off, this kind of reminds me of that. WTF!
