I have nearly finished rebuilding a basket case 1998 S1 Lightning, now sorting out the oil tank and breather pipes but can't find any details/pictures about the pipe exiting the rear of the crankcase under the battery tray. Does this pipe just vent through a breather or 'T' into the oil tank top breather pipe? There were no pipes with the bike and i've been unable to sort this one, any help will be greatly appreciated.}}

there is no breather, the hose routes back under the battery tray and up between the frame and oil tank pointing out to either the left or right your choice. Just make sure that you dont over fill the primary or that vent will puke formula plus out all over. If I can figure out how to down size photo's I could send you some pic's of my bike, let me know ok?

Kusskid76, Thanks for that, if you have a pic and it's not too much trouble that would be great, but you have answered my question. Thanks very much.

I think the pipe/hose you are talking about is the transmission breather not head. At least that is how it is in my X1.

Your welcome Mozzy I'm glad to hear some one is putting a buell back together instead of chopping it, IMHO the S1 is the meanest looking factory bike ever made.

If you have any other question feel free to ask!!
P.S. Post some pic's when your done!!!
