Could anyone please explain to me how to get to the speedo sensor and what it looks like. my speedometer has been working a little bit more than half the time i ride it so im thinking it just needs to be cleaned off. im in vermont and there is a lot of sand left on the roads right now so im thinking that i have been picking up the magnesium. am i headed in the right direction? thanks

If its located in the same place as the tubers which I'm sure it is its mounted in the top of the right centercase just inside and to the rear of the front drive belt pulley.

Should be held in place with a 1/4" socket head cap screw.
A 3/16" allen wrench is the only tool required for removal.

well i don't want to sound like a moron but i am new to buells and i'm not really a mechanic. what are tubers and what is a centercase? all i know is that i start with taking off my front sprocket guard. is that correct?

do yourself a very inexpensive favor. buy a factory service manual. it helps in every possible way that you can imagine. time, money, frustration, personal safety, etc

Tuber = any Buell pre the XB series with a tubular steel frame rather than the current aluminium frame
Centercase = the large painted part of the engine under the cylinders above the exhaust can
