I think it would be beneficial to see the mileage and the condition of any tire that we run on our bikes.

Pirelli Scorpion Sync Rear 7928
Pirelli Scorpion Sync Front 11,128 (so far)

Rear: bald in the middle from commuting with about 500-1000 miles of tread left on the sides.

Front: 11,128 and can go about 1000 more.

Putting the third Dunlop D208 rear on my bike this weekend at 8,000 miles. Front tire has enough tread to last through the rear one more time I think.

New XB9R last year. 208 lasted 5,500 miles, put on power pilot got 4,500, now have second power pilot and am at the cords in 4,000 miles/ Tire life seems directly proportional to average speed over the life of the tire. I typically ride back country county blacktops. I have a new set of Scorpions coming...will see how they fair.

I got the same on my front as SpeedFreaks... almost to the mile. I replaced my rear at about 6500... but I commute in the rain sometimes and try and avoid completely bald tires.

(Oh, and they were the Scorpions, best street tire I ever had on a motorcycle).

Conti Road Attack, circa 4000 miles on F & R. Front is barely worn rear is approx 1/2 worn.

Sticky thru rain and dry. I ran 65-70 mph for 2 1/2 hrs on Sat. w/o any hint of drift.

They don't "chase" grooved roads very much, unlike the Dunlops.

Plus they have a cool looking tread pattern, kinda boomerang-ish

Dunlop Qualifier.

Rear: 3000 miles.

A bit disappointing, got 4500 out of my Pilot Powers on my old nine.

I always replace my front & rear when I get tires. I find running a new rear with an older front handles worse than two old tires. But that's just me. That said -
Dunlop 207's 2500 miles
Dunlop 208's 2500 miles
Pilot Powers - 5000 miles - 2 sets
Pilot Roads - 9000 miles so far, but am replacing them this week. Rear is down to the wear bars and I ride too many miles too far from home to run on cords.
I haven't decided what I'm putting on yet, but I can say that I've been happy with the Pilot roads. I'll see what my tire guy recommends, I'm interested in the Pirelli Syncs, but can't find any decent info on them, so I'll defer to an expert.

Kdan - How aggressive (on average) are you with the Pilot Roads? I have an M2 that I spooned some very cheap Avon's on (was from a salvage store's buyout of some tire place). I HATE the Avon's - I can loose traction at will and have zero confidence in aggressive cornering.

I have pretty much been a Dunlop or Metzler guy but thinking of switching out on the M2. I tend to ride it AGRESSIVELY about half the time (in other words, when I feel confident there is no trouble nearby).

Road Attack Rear 3400 miles
Road Attack Front 3400 miles so far

I had heard good things about these tires so I thought the rear would last longer than 3400 miles. I am going to replace the rear with another Road Attack but when the front wears out I may try the Pilot Roads.

I got 2200 out of the stock dunlop..... I've been riding hard so far this summer tho. Anybody know if anything will last a little longer? I've been looking into the corsa 3's or the pilot powers, both dual compond.

My '06 ULY came w/ the Dunlop 616, and I replaced the rear @ 9200 miles (still had some tread), and am still running the original front and closing in on 13k. I ride in a crappy HWY area in Cleveland, Ohio. I have had good grip in all weather.

Bart
This is a good thread but it would help to have more establish categories, distance, wear patterns, wet handling, hardness, off road capabilities.

Joe, I agree but I was afraid that no one would post if I asked for too much info.

BTW I am now in need of a new rear tire. I have 3717 miles on my Conti Raod Attack rear because I ran over something that gashed my tire. The tire had a flatspot from quite a few highway miles. The tire would have lasted probably 500 miles more but not much more.

So now my issue is that I want the Pilot Raod 2's but I am too impatient to wait. So I am going to try the Conti Road once again and see if I can wear out the sides and have a really tall center for a change : )

Conti Road Attack Rear : 3717 due to flat (could have made it to 4200-4300 miles)

This tire did well in the rain. And seemed to wear similar to the Pirelli Scorpion SYNC for me. One thing that is odd is that this tire requires 42 psi.

My rears run out first, but I replace both because the front's have always been flat spotted or getting close to the wear bars.

Dunlop D208 - corded at 4k miles
Bridgstone BT021 - Wear bars at 5k, cords at 6k

Rear
Dunlop Qualifiers.....2600
" .....2700
I ride pretty hard(as many corners as I can find)and on this last set have only got about 1/8-1/16 tread on either side of the rear. These Dunlops are crazy sticky. The only thing limiting me on them is my ability in the corner. The only bad thing is once they start to square you had better go ahead and order another because they cord quickly after that!

Qualifiers and Corsas are better tires than I am a rider; so I am unwilling to live with their short life. I use D220s front and rear; they are sticky enough for me! I can get 7000-8000 out of the rear, and the front lasts over twice as long.

Thanks Eustace for the input - rider vs tire perf. , I plan to follow your lead & get Dunlop 220's for my '99 S3T. I don't want to get stuck in the middle of cross country with a tire change impending.

Anybody ever try a set of ME880s? They're OEM on FJRs and Goldwings, and Valks... I've seen claims of 15K+, and that's on those big bikes...

I run them on my BMW.

Good tyre but nowhere near the grip of the Diablo's.

I had good luck with Continental Road Attacks. This one has 8000 miles on it, almost all interstate:

I changed it at around 9000 and it still had some tread left.

Bought in XB12X in April with <2000mi

Front: D616F 120/70 R-17
Now still has got 25% Left at 14000

1st Rear: D616 180/55 R-17
Wore totally out with cords hanging out by 8500mi

2nd Rear: Dunlop D205 Motorcycle Tire for Harley Davidson Models 200/55-17 lasted 300 miles then failed with a flaw in the tread pattern where the tire is tied together.

3nd Rear: Dunlop Qualifier Motorcycle Tire 190/55-17 bought for WAY!!! to much. Over $350 Highway robbed because on a trip and the 2nd rear failed. Within 1/4 of the bike shop in the middle of anywhere. 95% Worn out in 5500 miles.

I'm running near max load all the time.
Big guy with girlfriends and a actionpacker on the beavertail.

Need a LONG wearing tire that is big a do the multi state tours.

Maybe Metzeler ME 880 Marathon XXL Motorcycle Tire 210/50-17 for the rear. With a Metzeler front.

Unless someone gots a better ideal.

scorpions
Rear 10,000 miles should have dumped at 9,000 and for handling about 55 or 6,000 miles.
front still looks good at 10,000 but swapping ut anyway

the diablo strada is an outstanding tire,I ride them edge to edge they hold a great line and are predictable, and these are the best tires for wet roads. 8700 miles front/rear,on the 12r.
