Ok I need some advise! I purchased an 08 XB12Scg March of last year, and since then it has had the 1000mi service done, and another at 2500mi neither time did any tech mention anything about any lower then normal oil level. The bike now has about 4000mi and when i checked the oil level last time it was not even registering on the dipstick!! This concerned me of course so i added oil...The bike only holds around 2.5qrts & i ended up adding 2full qrts!! I have never seen any smoke when riding so i find it hard to believe my bike is burning that much oil, wich then makes me think was the full amount added at the last service? Has anyone else heard or experienced their bikes burning oil??

You might want to look here. I would find it hard to believe that the oil light would not come on if the level was that low.

Get out your owners manual and make sure you are using the proper procedure to check the oil level. FWIW, my '08TT likes to live in the middle of the add/full scale, so I leave it there.
