Anyone have any info on using a 12 exhaust on a 9 with the valve wired open? I have heard that on bikes with a race kit, the 12 can give more flow and performance than a 9 exhaust, while remaining quiet.

i ride a 9sx with a working 12S exhaust. If yours is a 9sx the wiring is ok, you just need a 10 inches wiring for the servo and plug it into the existing wiring. Now you just need to enable the servo with ecmspy. if your 9 is older than a 9sx ( 2004/2005) your wiring and the ecm are not compatible. you need a ib310 or GB231 ecm to work with

Could this only work for Euro models?

sorry, i just see Thespive talks about a valve always open, you don't need ecm mods, additional wiring etc

What is better? Valve always opened or closed?

How does it feel on the 9?

Do you have pics of the wiring mod and connector?

I posted the question again on the XB board, I didn't see anyone had answered this original post.

i like the ecm working valve. always open make a crappy sound. I have not pictures, just see the oem wiring on a 12, not wire cut is needed, just plug and play

Mine is a 9SX with the Race ECM. Can you enable the servo with the Race ECM or do you need to do it with the stock ECM?

How is drivability? Did you notice a difference over the 9 muffler? Can you feel a change when the valve opens? Does it sound any different at idle or under acceleration?

Thanks,
