G'day, I would like to do some touring on my 99 Cyclone, was wondering if anyone knows of a fly screen extender or wing tip like the ones at www.saeng.com ? | ||

Troll, for the price of an extender and wing you could have a whole separate wind screen. I and some other Buell buddies have mounted Givi A750 & A755 fairings to M2’s & X1's with little problems and have been happy with them. http://www.givi.it/home/frame.asp I'll try to attach a photo with a better angle then my profile photo. G'day B2M2, I have to agree with DK1201, What a fine looking bike. Will be after one like that, looks like enough for all round riding. I made a wing tip and it works but looks ugly, were as the GIVI is fantastic. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. So were in the states can I get one, sick of Australin dealers ripp off prices. Plus were I live is in the Northern Territory (NT) we have freight issues. Favorite saying for NT parts and freight supply, Not Today, Not Tomorrow, Not Tuesday, Not Thursday, No Train(line is under construction)and No Transport. Regards TROLL. | ||

Sorry, this took a bit to respond but I’m on my way to Sumatra and had a 5 hour layover in Tokyo so I thought I would check the posts. Color: I ordered mine in SV blue and it was close enough for me. It has to catch the right light to see that it’s a shade or two different then the Buell “Blue Streak”. Givi has a web site where you can order online. Thanks for the info on your GIVI fairing. I put one on and used it on my 4000km trip. Worked great. I bought the black one and painted it. Paint matched perfect and it looks great. Couldn,t be happier. I would recommend it to everybody who has an M2. Next question is where and what did you use for the chin spoiler????? Thanks | ||

Thunderbox, The chin fairing is off an X-1 I got off ebay. I think around 40 USD. I ordered the X-1 mounting hardware from the dealer. The only modification is the M2 shifter spacer is somewhat larger and you'll need to bore the bigger hole in the spoiler. You have pic's of your bike? Please Post. Bill | ||

Thunderbox, see if you might like this. Now that you have a “real” wind screen you can tuck some gauges behind it. See photo. Oil Pressure and Oil Temp. After I added the gauges and I had an idea of about where “normal” oil temp was. I was curious if adding a X-1 side scoop and forcing air towards the rear cylinder would make a difference or not. Visited EBay again and found one for 8 USD. I can’t say I really noticed a big change. I did tape some ribbons in front of the scoop and went riding at varying speeds just to see if the air flow was really going into the engine or not. It was, I ended up liking the way the scoop looks so I left it on. Bill   | ||

Hey Bill, One more question. Where do you find normal oil temp running at? We have some police bikes here but the gauges we put in didn't bother to mention what temp we should be looking at lol. | ||

Thunderbox, I’m running Mobil 1 Synthetic 15/50 wt. so I can’t speak for any other type/brand of oil. Remember as the ambient temperature goes up so does the oil temp. Max temp for any condition so far is 210 F. Cruising: 3,500 rpm 80 F day oil temp runs around = 180-185 F. Hard Riding: 4,500 – 5,500 rpm 80F day oil temp = 200-210 F. Stop/Go Traffic: 210 F. (this is a Killer) What is said about running your bike for about 20 mins to get it fully warmed up is true, that’s about the time it takes for the oil temp to stabilize. Now that I know the temp my bike is running at I’m more aware (worried) of it’s need to keep air flow going over it. The gauges have turned out to be that Catch 22 thing. Bill | ||

About those Givi windscreens, are they an easy bolt up on the M2? Anybody know whether the "spoilers" they sell also bolt up OK? Does one just order the SV650 models and they bolt up OK? Thanks. Stubby. | ||

The GIVI windscreen is fairly easy to install but you have to bend or remove the standard flyscreen brackets to install the GIVI. I did it in about 45 minutes and with just the tools I have at home. I also drilled 2 holes in that standard bracket to fit 2 other bolts that come with the windscreen. You may have to readjust your headlight as you use those 2 bolts for installation. | ||

Hey Stubby, I have the Givi A760 that I purchased from Arizona Motorsports. AZ Motorsports was absolutely great in getting the order out to me within the same week. The Givi is really easy to install. Clear directions and no special tools. You don't even need to remove your muffler first (old running joke from another section of BADWEB)  . Thunderbox, I was able to order the handful of parts I needed individually from my local dealer. I don’t think it amounted to more then 20 bucks. There are a couple of pieces that can’t be bought at the hardware store (brackets & rubber expanding nuts), but actually the rest is mostly only longer bolts. | ||

Thanks Bill, I will pick up most of the stuff at the fastener place and the special stuff at HD/Buell. I am ordering a set of gauges, I am going to go with the Autometer marine hi vis set. I think they will be nice. Have a good one | ||

Dave, if you can't find something you need let me know and I'll pick it up here and send to you. Don't know if you saw in my post about the gauges but I used an electric temp gauge as it made things a whole lot easier to install and less chance for getting broke.
