So what i dont have is the $400 to get a helibar upper triple clamp for my '07 12R. What I DO have though, is the simple fact that I'm a machinist, have access to a milling center on my day off, and have a couple chunks of 304 stainless. So I programmed up a little magic, and heres what I ended up with. Approx. 1.25" rise and 1" back. I cut the triple clamp at 1.0625" from the edge of the fork holes. The riser blocks have a slot that fits very snug over the horizontal portion of the triple clamp. (Had to tap them on with a deadblow, but I wanted everything nice and tight.) No threads in the aluminum, just got through holes in the aluminum. The bolts are threaded into the portion of the riser block thats above the triple clamp. Sorta a steel and aluminum sandwich if you will. Everything went back together great. No cable issues. Full steering range. Very comfortable. Had to do alot of hand blending to match them up nicely with the triple clamp casting. Still need paint, not sure if I'll go frame color, or just a matte black. Thanks for looking!

They look great Hoovdawg. With Heli gone you have no competition

I've got the Helis on my 12R and the position is perfect.

What I haven't understood is what is holding the stainless risers to the original remains of the triple clamp. Is it just interference?

Pete- The blocks are basically press fit. They slide from the front, onto the triple clamp. But that is no where near safe enough of course. There are two grade 8 1/4-20 bolts coming up from the bottom and threading into the top portion of each block. As far as the competition statement, I wish I had the capability to produce them. These were pretty much a one off thing. They would need refining (as I had to do a bunch of hand work)to be a production style piece. And people would have to be comfortable with hacking up thier triple clamps. But for a first shot, they turned out good. If I had the space at my home for a cnc mill, I'd be golden. Oh, I'd also need a lot of money!! =-(

I really like them. Shame you can't make them, but I appreciate why you can't.

These would work on an 1125R, and I haven't seen anything like this for them.

Thanks! I'm kind of a perfectionist. Plus I enjoy what I do for a living, so making them was pure fun. Really wish I had the bread to start up a little side business doing this type of stuff. Maybe some day.....
