My carb on m2 runs with enricher on for about 1-2 minutes- enough gas, no vacuum leaks or leaks anywhere- could this be because I lost the needle jet- the thing under main jet holder? I can't find, it may have been jambed in there and gotten lost I cleaned and blew out the orifices, so I never missed it and never put it back. Goofy but I did it on 2 carbs--does this part normally 'fall'out? I'm not sure if there's one in there already or whether missing? I could kick myself.

OK, the one missing is in fact not in the tested carb. Just goes to show you to do the most obvious things first, like make sure that you have all of the pats in order- I swear I checked everything but this and blew it out with an air hose and never missed it- thought that something smacked against the wall of the garage, too old my eyes are to even begin a search. Anyone else done this?

It should be running really rich at part throttle. If that results in carbon build-up in the head and on the piston, that will be a lot more effort to repair than replacing a part that is there for a reason.
