I'm going to be installing 2 hid ballasts into my XB9S and I'm not sure what size wire to use for power/ground. This will be switched w/ an appropriate relay, and will not be using the original wire harness for anything more than energizing the coil. I do have some 12AWG Stinger speaker wire laying around. I'd like to use it if it will be adequate to handle 20AMP current. Anyone know? | ||

Alright. I'm going to put the 12AWG wires in, they should be able to handle the load (amps). /thread | ||

Hi there. 12 gauge should be fine for a 20 amp circuit. I saw the post but thought I'ld respond a bit later. Then my new PM wheels got delivered. Well I got a little side tracked. Good luck. The wire I'm using is automotive speaker wire, and pretty good stuff at that. The insulation is super durable, and will be wrapped w/ heat insulation through the engine area. I had considered using some 8AWG braided cable...but that'd just be too bulky, and hard to make the connections. New parts are soo distracting. I can't blame you for getting sidetracked.  | ||
