Is the switch for the brake light (front) a dealer only item? | ||

It is not. Try J&P Cycles [www.jpcycles.com] Accel part #240-693 [J&P #] @$11.99 & HIS of course. I would go ahead and replace the break line with stainless steel Russel or Goodridge line if you want to upgrade. When the stock rubber lines get old they swell and your stopping power degrades. If you do up grade you will need to install a "T" in the line for the brakelight switch. KK | ||

Sorry, thought it was the rear switch. The front one is proprietary and you have to order it from a Buell dealer. | ||

I have successfully made a non-functioning front brake switch serviceable by removing it and spraying electrical contact cleaner thru its delivery tube into the switch's vent hole. You might try that instead of buying another one. | ||

Cleaned the switch with cleaner. I need a new one. Mine works backwards (contacts closed when button is NOT pressed). Time to order one! | ||

FYI!!!!! The switch is made to work backwards!!!!!! When the brake lever is pulled, it releases the switch. Saved me $13 and got set up to get my headlight recall done. | ||

I used a utility knife to pop mine open and used sand paper to clean the contacts then snapped it back together and all works well. I have order a spare just in case. | ||
