Tying to test the regulator on an 01 X1 I did the test where you us a test light to ground and each individual pin but I'm not sure if you do it with the key switch on or off. The light barely glows with the key on and nothing with it off. The stator tested fine. But I just want to make sure about the reg. so I'm not throwing parts at the bike. Thanks in Advance.

I have a 99 and my regulator just crapped out. I figured it out when the AC in was good and the DC out on the single line which goes to the positive terminal direct was 0. I would check the voltage to ground on that line with a multimeter and also check resistance from the connector to the positive terminal. Hope this helps.
