Has anyone done this on an XB?

By looking at the picture of the pump assembly in the manual it would seem that the fuel pressure is totally dependant on the state of the fuel filter as it is between the regulator and the fuel rail.

Is it possible to place the regulator after the filter either inside the pump assembly(reverse the order so to speak) or run a separate return line from an external regulator?

It would also seem that placing the regulator return where it is now in the stock arrangement would be a possible cause of fuel aeration as the levels got lower(the bad running as the level drops).

interesting questions , VERY interesting.
i have read that the race fuel pressure reg. solves the problem caused by low fuel level , a racer wrote it a long time ago and i don't remember the racer name.
