I planning on installing my K&N and NGKs tonight and also want to flash my factory 06 ECM with the 07 race ecm Eprom. My question is the TPS reset part of eprom, in other words will I still have to do the tps reset? well I used the Knowledge Vault so lets see if I get some good responses | ||

I have a K & N and NGK irrid plugs on my 07. You can't load the Race EEprom on the stock ECM, you can only save the race maps and then load them into the stock ecm. Don't ask how I know  It's will not be the same ECM as the race ecm, but the maps will be similar. Yes u'll still have to do TPS resets. | ||

Ok, I am a bit confused. I have read everywhere that you can load up a race Eprom and be on your way. does this only apply to the BUEGB231 ecms. Because I can guess that you did the same thing I just did. I borrowed a eprom from a fellow badwebbers web page that said 2006 Race ECM so I went to burn it, I saw that the Version was different, BUEGB231 was the race ecm while mine was BUEIB310. but I tried it anyways. it will burn, but I get a bunch of error codes, TPS reads wide open and the fan runs as soon as you shut the key off, and it never turned off. So anyways I reloaded my eprom and everything seams good. But now I guess I am confused because I have yet to read someone else having this same problem, until now of course. Sooo its looks like I need to manually pick apart all the uniqueness of a race ecm and input those into my factory eprom, grrr thats alot more work then I was hoping for. | ||

Ok, So like I said before, don't load the Eprom. Without ECMSPY connected to your bike: Load Race ECM, Do a save Maps call it RACEMAPS (this is only the fuel maps and timing maps not the entire ecm) Now connect ECMSPY to your bike Load YOUR BIKES ECM LOAD the file you saved RACEMAPS (not the Eprom) Burn |
