I finally got fed up getting bent over a barrel at the dealership. The next maintenance issue will be replacing the final drive belt on my 02 X1. The service manual says I need a special lift/jack to do this due to the underslung exhaust, what do I need? Also a list of other tools for maintenance that I will need down the road would be a great help.

Try this: http://danielcstarr.googlepages.com/replacetuberis olators
Your X1 has a side plate making replacement much easier.
