I turned on my key and the kill switch, when i hit the start button all the power went dead as if the key were off. Absolutely nothing was on yet no fuses or relays were blown. I disconnected the battery and reconnected and it works fine now. But wtf? Has anyone else had this problem? I just want to fix something before its broke if possible, I like to ride, not push.

Can't say I've ever had this happen, but just be glad somethings not wrong, it sounds like just a bad battery connection.

It's good practice to make sure your battery terminals are snug and clean of oxidation.

Also not a bad idea to keep it on a battery tender/c-tek maintainer while it's parked at home.

Also check the ground to the frame and the positive connection to the starter and of course don't just check the battery connections. PLEASE clean them both. Actually please clean them all even if you think they don't need it. I have fixed some problems by following this advice.

Thanks for the replies, Im thinking it was just a bad connection. The battery is fairly new, I did a little cleaning and it seems fine now.
