Have been getting metal in the primary oil from new on the magnetic drain plug. Some little pieces and some a little bigger.
Nothing to worry about I am told by the dealer.
As the front sprocket on the primary is also a large magnet for the stator to operate has anyone found any amount of metal inside it after a gearbox failure?
Wondering because no amount of primary chain adjusting(tight or loose) seems to remove the vibration that is evolving from my drivetrain yet there is very little to indicate a bearing issue other than than the usual harmonics that precede such a failure.
It does not appear to be engine related as clutching the engine at speed and then altering the revs does not change the vibrations however roadspeed under load seems to provoke it.
I have had both wheels checked for balance and although the front seems to wear on one side of the tyre more than the other(from new and this is the second tyre)all seems to be normal.
Any ideas?

I have not had the rotor apart to look for filings but usually find a bit during the pri. oil change on the plug. Maybe wheel brgs. or swing arm isolators. Not an expert just trying to look at it different.
