just got back from dealership after 10,000 mile service and noticed that they put dino oil back in engine and formula+ in the primary. i have been running syn3 since the 1,000 mile change. i don't have a problem with the formula+ in the tranny because i hear it's good stuff. however, i'm worried about the dino in the engine. should i change it back myself to syn3 or just leave dino in there and maybe change after 2500 miles or so? afterall it is new oil that i paid for and shouldn't be wasted. trip back to the dealership is 100 miles. also spare me the don't use the dealership lecture- i allready know.

Just ride it. Oil is oil. If they put Harley oil in it, I wouldn't fret over the type of oil it is because that is what Harley/Buell recommends.

But if it bothers you that it is not Syn3, change it out at the next oil change interval called out in your owners manual.
Do it yourself and keep the receipts. You don't have to travel 100 miles and pay $XXX to change oil. It's real easy.
Oops, sorry for the lecture...
