Are there ANY differences INTERNALLY b/t carbureted and Fuel injected motors/ The conversion to carbs is easy enough I'm open to either. Somebody at a salvage yard told me -99 motors had stronger bottom ends(?) dunno.
HELP ME OUT GUYS. Thanks for anything/.}

Bigger flywheel mass on the old models.
Same/similar to sportster crank.

A few things to consider. XB's don't have the mounting for the carburetor and the frame is in the way of a side mounted carburetor. Somebody help me on this, Buell changed the weight of the cranks, don't remember when. In 98 and newer tubers got the thunderstorm heads. (black)Other than that it's just little stuff. And there is a head work around for the XB motor. Also a S&S intake would be a work around. A big one for me though is the XB does not have what I call a cassette style transmission of the XL cases. But the newer XB's I think 08 has a bigger crank pin.

You could get the XB heads drilled/tapped to accept the breather bolts and carb bracket if for some reason you were thinking about converting an XB engine to carb.

I know NHRS does this, and I'm sure plenty of other people could do it as well.
