I am not sure where to post this question, so I figured since it is about my motor, this is the best choice. The motor in the 99 X1, what would the Harley equivalent be? More so, what bike would it be interchangeable with? Thanks.

Do you mean a 1200 Sportster?? I'm not quite sure of the question. Although yours may have more horsepower.

I am asking what harley motor could be swapped over to the X1. Reason for this is a I found a website, which is posted in the Links forum, and they do not list Buell, but they do list HD.

Hey Buddy I really would want another Buell engine if I were you. If you go with a sportster engine well go right ahead.

Any late model but pre 2004 Sportster XL motor will fit. Basically any XL motor from 95 - 03 will fit.
However, there are differences between the Buell motors and Sportster version. More power in the Buell's in one of them.

What is it that you are trying to do?

Don't forget you can't bolt the front isolator bracket to the head on a stock 1203 EVO. So, you would at minimum need Buell heads on a sportster motor just to get it to bolt in.
