Hello buelligans, I am new to the buell world, but I am afraid I am off to a poor start. I purchased a (unknown to me) basket case bike. I picked up a 2002 X1 with 15000 miles for 1500 bucks. I had the following done to the bike. New heads, new speedo sensor, new cam position sensor, fuel pump, plugs, and some other small parts. Problem is the bike was not running very smooth once it was all back together. I am thinking I may need a TPS reset, as I rode it about 30 miles and it idled and ran at low rpm,s poorly. (The bike would shimmy around slightly at idle, meaning not stay stationary). Anybody have any ideas on where to start looking? Or does anyone have a shop in Socal that can do a TPS reset. I have a code reader, but would like to get the old codes cleared out. I am also getting a Engine temp sensor code now. If anyone in so Cal wants to do a TPS reset there is a Brand new Italian 3/4 helmet in it for them. Thanks to all! Help me log some miles this summer on this bike, it sounded so much meaner than my Jap bike. | ||

Sounds like the engine temp sensor by the symptoms. Replace it and go from there. | ||

Since the fuel pump was replaced, I would check to see if there are any orings missing at the lines. This sounds like low fuel pressure. |
