I need a fairing for my wrecked 97S3T. there is a 98S2 on e-bay along with another that looks just like it.They both look just like mine from the pics, but the S2 fairing seller said his wont fit the S3 is this correct? can I make it fit? I have mig welding machine. | |||

I didn't see any others on ebay matching your description. I have a 99 demon blue S3 fairing with light damage, repairable using the same techniques shown on the saddlebag repair page at http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/3842/34032.html?1060318081#POST18 5072 A little fiberglassing, a little bondo, a paint job, and voila, good as new! You can have it for the cost of packaging/shipping, likely around $30 or so. Let me know. I can send you a picture of the damage if you want to see that first. Al | |||

Brad, Yup! I kept it on the bike for 2 years, worked just fine with a little touch up. Finally found a pristine Demon Blue fairing on ebay a couple months back and got it mounted just before SPLASH. Cheaper than a paint job! (BTW, send me mail on how many clamps you needed see my return mail to you on the hanger..I never got a reply..you did get a return mail, right?) | |||

Howdy, Couldn't find a place to put this in the knowledge vault though I'm sure I've seen this issue addressed. I have an 02 M2 and the factory saddle is rubbing the tank. I am convinced that the staples (which ate the cheesy tape) will someday chew through the tank. Who has the best fix? | |||

Clark, That plastic is pretty thick, I wouldn't worry too much. I've got 21000 on my M2 wth no problems. I've not heard of anyone else with a weatr through problem. Brad | |||

M2 Taller windscreen? I've seen someone with a taller windscreen for an M2, but have been unable to track one down. It was factory color, but may have been painted afterwords. Any suggestions on where I could source one? I tried American Sportbike, but didn't see anything... | |||

Look on the internet and a company called GIVI. I have one on my bike and also on this site look under knowledge vault/accessories/flyscreen and Mike has a picture posted there of his GIVI. | |||

Question on S3 fairings. What keeps the headlight from rattling? I just finished wiring up & mounting a S3 fairing on my M2, and all seems good except the headlight bucket bounces around.. a lot. All I have holding it to the fairing sub frame (spider)is 3 adjustment screws, & they let it jiggle a bunch. Am I missing a part? or is there an adjustment I haven't figured out? Thanks. | |||

OK, now see in that picture that Jim just posted where the little spring tabs on the #3 Clamp (I'd call 'em nuts myself, but #3 in the picture anyway) hold the "clamps" into the bucket? THAT's where the rattling comes from. Easy fix: Pop those "clamps" out. Cut a small piece of gaffers tape, maybe 1.5" square or so, and stick it centered over the square cutout in the bucket, on the front side. Slice an x from corner to corner in the cutout, and fold the triangle tape pieces back thru the hole and stick 'em down on the other (back) side. Snap those "clamps back in, rattle all gone. Thanks! Jim & Al.. Duct tape is the force!  I was going to squirt RTV goo into the little sheet metal clamps (part#1 above), but tape is probably better. I'm going to remove the fairing anyway to get shorter screws for the turn signals, & eliminate the extenders. I just got the wiring straightened out, from changing the dash & moving the turn signals. I was test running the fairing & squeeky city! Jim, the pic was JUST what I needed for peace of mind. Now I'm sure there are only 3 screw/adjusters holding the lamp. Thanks. (before I just "reasoned" that 3 would be the # & the # would be 3) (not 4, 5 is right out!) | |||

I just picked up a set of lower fairings for my '99 S3T. The bike has a Force air intake. Has anyone here mounted up the right side lower fairing without the stock breadbox to attach to and what was your solution? Shane | |||

Looking for some help in styling the tail section on my M2. I have an s1 tail section mounted and like it, but I only have a brake light, I want to mount turn signals and clean up the hole in the back. Has anyone done this, have pictures for some ideas and such? I have an idea or 2, I would just like to get some examples of other things that have worked. I'm not wanting to chop and frame tubing or anything, I still have my M2 tail and want to keep it for traveling, or taking the wife for rides. I plan to wire in a quick connector for the lighting. Anyone else experience paint bubbling on the replacement gastanks? My S3tank is bubbling severely all over the tank. Tank was replaced due to decal bubbling and now my replacement tank is bubbled all over. What can I do to stop this from happening on a new replacement tank? | |||

Thanks bomber, look forward to seein the pics. and how you did your lights. I just started coming to the board, I've only had my M2 for about a month. I'm thinking I'll build a fiberglass cover for that area to fit under the S1 tail. I have even thought of making a mold of the s1 tail and designing my own off of that, but....I'll have to look into materials needed and cost I guess, then decide if I will stop with the box or try the full tale. I'm not afraid to try, as long as I'm not out a ton. If it can't run faster than Torqd's S1, I gotta have it lookin better! | |||
