Bike in neutral light not coming on. To start bike must pull in clutch. 07 buell uly with 7200 miles

Neutral sensor is near the front sprocket.

Check the connectors for corrosion/green death.

If the usual electrical connection stuff does not work you may have some metal on the sensor which will tell the ecm that you are in gear. May have to take out the sensor and give it a clean.

Not a magnetic sensor but a detent switch. Same fix just ensure that the plunger moves in and out to switch on and off.

A cicuit tester or a simple battery and light bulb will tell you if the switch is working.

If it does work out of the bike but fails once put back in then it may be the earth connection if you are getting power tot he sensor or you may have to shim it out a little to ensure the plunger is moving far enough to trigger the switch. Not too far out as the sensor may contact other parts.
