I bought my bike about a year and a half ago, she is a 03 and it has a host of goodies on it before I bought it. Drummer, Race chip, and drilled out air box. she sounds AWESOME and ran fine, on my last day that I rode her she was starting to overheat, it was summer at about 102 (I live in Texas)she cut off twice, and the fan was screaming like a banshee. I rounded the last corner before my house and had a 15mph lowside- oil on street from heat. She sat in my garage for about 3 months before I could afford all the parts and put her back together, when I went to start her, fuel started leaking out, took off the airbox and had a look at the injector it looked to have a pin hole in it. I was so fustrated at this point (I was still hurting from lowside and now broke) she has sat in my garage for almost a year now. I was talking to another mechanic and he said it might be a unseated injector. Would that cause the over heating? I have talked to others and they said that type of over heating was abnormal. It was backfiring when I would role off a hard throttle. First time Buell owner and this bike has been nothing but headaches for me so far, I won't get rid of my baby, but everytime I go to my garage I get a little depressed. Finally got some funds and time freed up and am ready to takle taking her apart. Any advice about what I should look for? Thanks guys and gals.
