I was setting all of my suspension settings on my 2005 XB9SX and when I got to setting the rear shock rebound damping, the dial was extremely stiff. I could barely budge the thing. After putting some muscle into it, it finally was moving ever so slightly. I was pretty sure it was set to max (i.e. all the way turned clockwise). I was turning it counterclockwise to the recommended setting and it finally broke loose. Now the dial spins freely, but it doesn't get to a stopping point if you spin it in either direction. I am thinking something might be wrong. Anyone have any ideas? Is my rear shock screwed? How will this effect my ride quality since I am unable to adjust? Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure you were turning the rebound adjuster screw (on the left side, I think)? Directly opposite the rebound adjustment screw there is a screw that plugs a construction hole on the lower eye portion of the shock. This plug is staked in place and is not intended to be turned. It would break free and then spin just like you mentioned.

I was turning the screw on the left side....any ideas? Is there a way to fix this?
