I recently purchased a 2005 Scg with about 4k miles. Right from the get-go i started experiencing intermittent stalls where the bike would just shut off. Sometimes it would fire right back up, sometimes it would turn over but not start for anywhere from 2-10 minutes, then finally fire up.
I took it back to the dealership (several times. . . . glad I bought the extended warranty) and they initially replaced the top gasket? (I'm not a mechanic, so not sure what that is exactly) but that didn't fix it. Took it back again, this time the told me to make sure I was using premium gas from reputable gas stations (Duh), took it back again, this time they gave me a loner bike (not a Buell tho) while they looked into the problem in depth.

They have had it a month now, and have so far replaced the fuel pump, the ignition, the fuel injectors, and a butterfly valve? and several other things that I can't remember, and still the problem persists. I believe they said that they are going to try to replace the entire wiring harness next, but that may take awhile to get as they don't have it in stock. I appreciate the dealerships efforts, and really appreciate that they gave me a bike to ride while they work on mine, but they seem to be at their wits ends.

I was wondering if any of you have experienced anything similar, and if so, what did you do to fix it?

Any ideas or suggestions that I could pass on to the dealership?

Thanks

Have they put in a fresh fuel filter yet?

Spark plugs correct?

I've picked up bad loads of fuel out on the road, even from tier 1 suppliers, and it's tough on a fuel filter. Bike will only run at about %90 of redline, any lower RPMs than those and it's like riding a bucking bronco.

Yeah, I think when they did the fuel pump that included the fuel filter as well. When they did the top gasket, they put new plugs and wires in as well.
