the top damping adjuster on my left fork gets 2 full turns from full clock to full counterclock....and my right fork only gets 1 full turn, which won't allow the full range of adjustment for set up. anyone else have this? any help would be much appreciated, before i suffer a trip to the dealer. thanks guys | ||

I do believe that either the internal threads came loose or the needle and seat are damaged. I had much the same problem when I rebuilt mine on an M2. I did not have it tight enough and damaged the needle and seat reinstalling one. So I just bought 2 new ones and was more careful the second time. Oh also the original stock ones are different from the new ones you will buy so make sure you replace both at the same time to sync the adjustment. Keep us posted. | ||

The rebound adjuster on the top only has a couple or three turns capacity when it is apart in your hand. When the top cap (preload and rebound assembly) is attached to the damping rod upon reassembly, the rebound adjustment screw must be "in" all the way. Then screw on the damping rod until it just bottoms out on the now closed rebound needle and seat. Then back off the rebound 1/4 turn and tighten the damping rod jam nut. Now complete the top cap assembly on to the fork tubes. (be sure to have set your oil level). You should now have a full 2-3 turns adjustment. mike | ||

P.S. With your forks the way they are now, the adjustments from 0 to 1 turn are the same on both forks. You just can't go softer on the one with just 1 turn available. If you are running in the 0 to 1 turn range now, and do not need to go softer, it will not help you to disassemble the forks to correct it. mike |
