I have noticed excessive noise from primary, especially on decel (The Primary Chain and Clutch are 100% in spec). I recently noticed that when in a certain position, the clutch sprocket has a little lateral play, when checked through the primary chain inspection opening. It is only movable intermittently, meaning that only when it is at certain points on the sprockets rotation. I am supposed to bring it in to dealer on Monday so they can check it out, but I am concerned that I won't be able to replicate the problem for them. Any ideas on what might cause the clutch sprocket to be loose, only when in certain positions? Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks.

It might be the crank sprocket nut coming loose. If it makes a heavy clacking noise on idle, cruise or decel but go away on acceleration, that's probably it. The best way to check the possibility of either nut being loose is to remove the primary cover and see what the breakaway loosening torque is on both.
