3 easy steps:
1. Get Factory Service Manual
2. Adjust Primary Chain Tension
3. Adjust Clutch

There!

I am having the same problem! When I stop at a light and put it in neutral It shifts into 1st very hard and then will kinda,slip- lunge-slam into 1st again. It also seems to be a little noisy. I thought my primary was to loose so I spent a couple hours making sure it was adjusted "as the book says" along with the clutch, but it still does it. Also my primary cover gets pretty hot during a ride. Too hot I think. Help Im just a poor biker wanting to ride}

Did you pull the primary cover and look to see if you have a broken primary tensioner shoe?
