My 07 XB12S (15,021 miles) just started making a crap load of noise, right side top of engine. I haven't had any loss of power or anything catastrophic happen, but the last couple days the valve train has really sounded like a train. Not pinging, but regular angry rock band playing jackhammers type sound, most noticeable on idle and engine decel all below 3k rpm. Other than the noise nothing seems to be wrong, but it makes me worry anyway. Is there something specific I should be looking for or watching out for? I don't want to blow this puppy up, but all the advice I come across says to just ride it, a noisy Buell is a happy one. I'm just hoping it's not screaming about how it's dying.

My 07 12R has just ticked over 16000km and I am pretty sure I have just had a lifter collapse.

Same noise symptoms etc.

Into the stealership tomorrow.
