I recently purchased a 2005 XB12R and have what's probably a goofy question. All the literature I've found suggests this bike has a 3.7 gallon tank and goes to reserve at 3 gallons. Mine has been hitting reserve at 2.5 gallons. Does anyone know if some models came with a smaller tank? Is the setting that controls when the bike goes to reserve adjustable?

If it comes to it I'll empty the tank and re-fill it just to see how much fuel it can hold but I was hopping someone here had a quick answer.

Thanks,
Richard

i think all the XB's are the same, mine usually comes on at 2.5 also. lets you know when you have about 1 gallon left. (thats what my dealer told me)

Thanks for the feedback. It makes me feel better knowing the general fuel capacity. I'm not so worried about hitting reserve and racing off to the gas station now.

Thanks,
Richard

Same here for 2004 XB12S

Have put four tanks in it right around when fuel light came on. Anywhere from 2.3-2.5 gallons. Might have fit a touch more, but the level was certainly up there.
