Any one know exactly what size pipe fits in the outlet of a stock xb12ss header? I just ordered what seems to be the last of the Performer RPM mufflers from edelbrock. And aside from fabbing the pipe between the header and the muffler and some kind of outlets, the pipe should the factory muffler support thing right? and could i use the original mufflers straps or do I need to find some other one? I plan on running it with the stock ecm and air filter until I can manage to replace them, should that be a problem?

I think you are in territory that only you can safely answer. Measure twice or thrice, and cut once.

Oh absolutely! I was just wondering so maybe I could get a bit of pipe in advance. Doesn't matter now though, I e-mailed Edelbrock for a tracking number and they finally responded saying my order status had been changed to: CANCELED. Thanks Edelbrock. nice to know they're really keeping track of their inventory, and I thought I'd gotten the last one. Just after I completed my order it changed to OUT OF STOCK.

So, I still like the idea of fitting a car muffler to my bike cause it's cheap. Does anyone know of any muffler that will fit onto an XB as easily as the performer rpm?

A cherry bomb perhaps? A real short one.

been thinking the same thing. What about sectioning a flowmaster? I also like the dynomax ultra flows. I want to make my own muffler that doesnt have any packing. All done with baffles. Like the flowmasters.

yea, cherry bomb now has the normal "oval" muffs. Gut one and slam that in the stock housing.

Here is one that I made. It uses internal baffles with no packing (think flowmaster).
