I remember reading here that the white wire was for the exhaust valve in the muffler. Didn't think they where in the 12 just the 9. Somebody should be along shortly.

The "white wire" is the vehicle speed input into the ECM. The 9 has an ignition retarding function to reduce noise based on road speed, engine speed and throttle position. The ECMSpy "white wire" mod disables this function.
