A 2001 cyclone M2 with weird cut out/stall issues.Only after a stop / heat soak,hot restart.1.Hot idles fine...ride a block, tach shuts off,the bike stalls,will not start.Let it sit for 30 minutes it starts right up!
Temp related!!! Jetting is correct,Runs a #48 pilot, 198 main.It pulls cleanly to redline with no hesitation or surge. The bike runs great,is fine until the stop, heat soak...Fuel,ign? HELP!
I purchased this bike 3 months ago with 7 miles on the odometer.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction?
The bike has o.e.ignition components,currently has 3K miles.
How can I find out about any recalls or TSB's?

Welcome to the board. Nice find. Take your VIN to a Buell dealer and have them run it for a status of recalls. I recommend that you pickup a service manual. So this bike has sit for awhile?
Just a guess because I'm not sure if this is fuel or electrical. Check and ensure that there is a protective sleeve over the fuel line from the tank to the carburetor. But I'm sure someone with experience with this problem will be along after sunrise.

Yes, This M2 cyclone sat with no gas in a heated garage for 7 years.The original owner(a fireman) broke his back 1 day after he bought it new,brought it home in his pickup.The mechanic who did the PDI is the only person who ever rode this blue beauty.
The former owner went as far as to crank it over every 6 weeks so the valve springs would not "set"
In addition to the bike I received all the BANKE billet accessories,misc trick stuff AND a Buell pro-series stainless supertrap muffer the owner bought, never installed.
Now if it was just a little more reliable...

If the bike has a sidestand safety switch you might try unplugging the wires and connecting the harness wires together, thus bypassing the switch. The +12 VDC to the coil goes through this switch and, if it is defective, causes intermittent ignition failures. This switch has a history of causing problems with the tube frame Buells.
That's the simple thing to check. Other possible causes that are a little harder to diagnose are 1) a defective cam position sensor in the nose cone and 2) defective coil related to heat.
But there are ways to test heat sensitive components by squirting a refrigerant spray on the hot unit and seeing if the problem goes away temporarily. |

I was going to suggest the nosecone module as well. You can run it with the cover off and see if it will run for a longer period of time. |

SPARKY nailed it.sidestand switch I used R-134a,froze it after the stall.YES!
I appreciate the help.
