I have a Force exhaust on my newly purchased '97 S3. The exhaust is way too loud. I am considering cutting off the muffler and using a quieter muffler in its place, such as a Vance & Hines or Supertrapp (or whatever I can find for cheap). I don't know what the OD f the stock pipes id where the muffler goes over it, or put another way, what is the ID of the stock muffler connection for my bike. I need to know if it is the same for my Force pipe. Thanks in advance.

Scott

The stock pipe had a 2" collector in 97. It changed to a 2.5" collector in 98. Put a tape measure on it and see. You can put the larger 98 system on but you will need to jet for it. It would be a performance up grade from the stock 2".
