This time it's my S1. I noticed when I pulled the battery last fall that something was obviously rubbing against the case and almost put a hole in it. Upon further inspection, I saw that it was a plug in my wiring harness.

Well, I finally got to the point where I'm ready to put the battery back in and remembered that pesky little problem I discovered last fall. I found the plug and grabbed it, trying to shove it somewhere away from the battery. As I did this, I could see something was wrong, like that plug wasn't completely together or something. I split the plug apart and this is what I saw...

regulator plug

Is it possible to get a replacement plug for both my wiring harness and the voltage regulator? If not, would there be any harm in splicing another type of connector (like a "bullet" connector) as long as it was a firm connection?

I simply soldered, applied RTV and heat shrinked. The only time I have had to use this connector was when it failed.

That can be a substantial amount of current, so if you do go the "spliced in connector" route, make sure it is one that can handle something like 20 or 30 amps.

Or just solder it.
