Hi, I have bought and fitted the '08 switchgear fitted to my '06 Uly which I am going to use to operate my Polly Heaters. My question is, although it would be simple and cheaper to solder and shrink-wrap the connections, I am tempted to buy the Deutsch plugs to match the ones on the '08 switchgear harness. the harness plugs are Deutsch PD USA DTM-06-3S and I understand the matching plugs are Deutsch WM3S. Does anyone have any idea where I could get a pair of Deutsch WM3S plugs? I am in UK, but can pay by PayPal if anyone is kind enough to post them to me. | ||

eBay is one source, another is Batts Racing's online page. They are very fast on shipping and carry a good stock. Your part numbers are not right. The WM-3S is the little orange plastic wedge lock that locks the sockets in place on the part your are looking for. Your "DTM-06-3S" is a plug and would normally mate with a receptacle called the "DTM-04-3P". You can see them here: http://www.deutschconnector.com/products/deutsch_d tm_3-way_connectors.html The Deutsch terminology is somewhat confusing because the "S" and "P" in the "DTM..." part numbers refers to the socket and pin contacts that are put on the wires. It does not refer to the plugs and receptacles that house the socket and pin contacts. So as you look into a receptacle, if you see metal pins, and it is a "P" part. And if you see the orange rubber seal there are sockets beneath it and that is a "S" part. The rubber seals can be gently lifted or worked out with a dull knife or small screw driver, they are pressed in by hand at the time of installation. Sounds like you're on your way. I really like those Deutsch connectors. I just installed an 8 pin DT series as a replacement for an 8 pin AMP connector on my '97 H-D FXD. The pins and plastic housings were showing their age and I was going to rewire the lights and turn signals from there back and it just did not make sense to leave the old AMP stuff there. Whenever I have to replace a connector, I go with Deutsch if it is possible. Good luck with that. Jack | ||

I have a Yamaha SRX 600 as a project that I have yet to start. These Deutsch connectors may not be original equipment, but they will surely be a good update to add where applicable. |
