The bike started doing something funny yesterday, and I think it's the fuel pump. I wanted to bounce that idea off of you all before I spend $400 for a new pump. Yesterday morning I turned on the bike, flipped the kill switch to "run" and waited for the engine light to go off so I could start the bike. I could hear the fuel pump running, but the light never went off. I eventually flipped the kill switch to stop, let it sit for a second, and then flipped it back on. The engine light went out normally this time. I stared the bike several times after that yesterday, and I didn't see any more problems. This morning I decided to check to see if it had to do with sitting overnight, and I did see a similar problem. The light went out, then a few seconds later it came back on. I'm assuming the light is triggered off fuel system pressure, and what this all means is I don't have enough. My fuel pump runs all the time. It always has. I'm told this isn't normal. I agree. I would run the diagnostic tests on either vdsts or ecmspy. If no luck there I would check for a fuel leak between the pump and the injectors. It may be one of the injectors is staying open, it may be crud near the pickup in the fuel tank as well or it may just be a faulty sensor. May also be a leak between the pump and the pressure regulator inside the frame/pump assembly or a faulty pressure regulatoe and last of all...............a stuffed pump. you may to try a Diagnostic trouble Codes using a electric wire, connect pins 1 & 2 of the Data Link (diagnostic port). To run the test procedure turn on ignition but do not start engine. a transmission code of 6 fast flashes followed by a 2 sec pause, then a series of slower flashes indicate the first and second digits of the code. Either another code will be displayed or the transmission code will repeat. DDFI Trouble Codes Code No. Fault Condition 11 TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) 13 Oxygen sensor 14 Engine temperature sensor (sensor Temperatura del motor) 15 Intake air temperature sensor (temperatura de entrada del aire) 21 Interactive Muffler Control (XB12 only) 23 Front fuel injector (Inyector Delantero). 24 Front ignition coil (Bobina delantera). 25 Rear ignition coil (Bobina trasera) 32 Rear fuel injector (Inyector trasero) 33 Fuel pump (Bomba de gasolina) 35 Tachometer (Cuentarrevoluciones) 44 Bank angle sensor (Sensor de Angulo de inclinación) 52, 53, 54, 55 ECM failure (Fallo de la Centralita ECM) 56 Cam sync failure (Sensor de posición de levas) | ||

I just ran the fault codes: 33 & 21 I noticed that my seat is rubbing through the ECM wiring. I've an 06 Uly with an 07 seat. Was an additional guard added on the 07s to prevent this? | ||
