Anyone know where I can get touch-up paint to fix a couple of nicks in my S1's wheels? They are the stock grey wheels... |

I can't find a reference to that, but I'm pretty sure the gray color is called "titanium." Seems like a dealership should be able to help with this. |

I **think** Titanium sounds right. If your dealer can't score some info, drop me a note. |

Blake, Court: When I first bought the S1 used in '01, I picked up some touch-up paint at the dealership, as there were some nicks & scratches from normal wear (and maybe some abnormal wrenching) The spark red was dead on, but the "silver frame and wheel paint" wasn't even close to the frame paint, I would've done better going to WalMart. And the wheels are not the same color as the frame. I tried taking the wheel to a couple of auto parts stores hoping to get close (I got some strange looks carrying in a wheel & tire) but nothing came real close, it is a grey with an almost blue tint to it. I sent a message to Court about this, the dealership I called said the wheels are powdercoated, that they sold nothing as far as touch up paint. I will try the other dealership in the area that sells Buells, as this dealership has kind of blown me off on some stuff in the past. I'll let you guys know if I make any headway... Mike |

Mike if that doesn't workout for you give these guys a call.... www.classiccoatings.com . They are the company that powdercoated them. Maybe they can help with some idea to what you need to do to touch them up. |

OK, Another strike. The other dealer told me the same thing, the wheels are powdercoated and they don't sell touch-up paint. Bads1, I contacted the company you gave the link for, he said they didn't know of anything in the way of paint that matched up with the powdercoating. I took the wheel to an auto parts store with a spectrometer, but they couldn't find enough flat surface area to get a reading. Oh well, back to square one... Mike |
