Hello! Would appreciate any feedback: I have a 2000 Buell Blast, working well EXCEPT the Speedometer/Odometer and it's light DON'T WORK!
A friend suggested the cable just needs to be replaced.
Wondering if anyone has had similar problem or if any of the "experts" have any advice.
Thanks!

I am not sure of the blast but my 2000 m2 has no cable. It is electronic. I would look at the service manual electrical schematic for a better idea of the problem.

Sounds more like a fuse, power wire or speedometer failure more than a sensor failure. But you could have a ground problem that effects both. It will be a great help to have a manufacture service manual. When the sensors failed on my S3 the odometer, tripometer and speedometer didn't update or indicate. But the back lighting still functioned.

Joe...My 1999 s3 has the same issue...My trip, odometer and needle dont update or indicate either, and the back lighting works as well as the lieage on it shows...What did you do to fix yours..?
I cleaned the sensor and try to test it for voltage etc..

Ive tried the service manual tests and it looks to me like the sensor checks oK, but the speedo itself doesnt...
Any help on what made yors work again is appreciated..Thx..hankb
