Hi all, new to Buells but need to replace oil pressure bulb in indicator assembly of my 2001 cyclone, the rubber grommet thing holding the bulb doesn't seem to want to come out of the back of the cluster,am I doing something wrong?} | ||

You need to replace just the bulb, or the entire indicator assembly? | ||

I had to take the indicator assy. out of the housing to replace the bulbs (2). I actually removed the housing also. Just be gentle with the rubber grommets. Try using a little silicone spray. Good luck. | ||

Many thanks Bert you answered my question, I just wasn't sure if you had to pull the rubber grommets out or not, as when I tried it didn't want to budge, I will use a bit more "gentle persuasion" when I have another go at pulling the grommet out on the weekend. | ||

I just did that. There was an older posting about it that suggested pushing a rubber hose into the housing to grab the bulb and pull it out. Works like a charm. No need to remove the grommet. Now all I need is to find the stupid bulb. | ||

Hey I got a few from the local dealer. Wow talk about expensive bulbs. 3 to 4 bucks apiece. Well I won't need any more for awhile because I bought a bunch. |
