I was checking my front rotor the other day and noticed it was loose (at the 9 or so points on the actual rotor, not where it attaches to the wheel). The manual tells me to should go bolt: E Clip: rotor: wave washer: flat washer: nut. The problem I have is that the E clip is missing and I can't find one anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find those? I even read that these are supposed to be floating? It just doesn't seem right. Expert advice greatly appreciated.

Actually that was changed and the e-clips were replaced with bolts and a washer stack.

If you get a chance send me a pic and your VIN and I'll do some snooping about and see if we can get you some run out specs and part numbers.

Easy fix.

My 1999 S3 manual has ;lateral deflection measurements exceed .100", the carrier is consider excessively worn and must be replaced.
If the rotational free-play exceeds .05", the carrier is considered excessively worn and must be replaced.
From Section 2.17
