After adjusting my belt tension the neutral switch stopped lighting in the normal position on my 2002 X-1 Lightning. I have to hold the shift lever in just the right position to light the light and start the bike. After going through the board, it seems my shifter forks may have become misaligned somehow. Is it possible the switch is damaged, or the fork is responsible? It was running great until this happened.

The switch is behind the front pulley. Maybe a good visual for damage.
