So I found a 2004 XB12R that I'm interested in buying. It has 11,000 miles on it and it looks to be in great condition. However, when I went to look at it today there was a peice of cardboard under the bike to collect a leak (the bike is kept indoors). Unfortunatly, the guys wife is selling it (he is deployed in Iraq) so she wasn't able to tell me what it was coming from. She said her husband said it was a bolt that needs tightened but she doesn't know how to do it so she just put the cardboard under it. Do you guys have any guesses as to what this might be? It seems like its dripping off the chin fairing but I'm not sure. Are oil leaks a common problem for buells, or is it something I should beware of. Or is it simply a loose oil plug? Thanks for any help. Oh, one more thing, is there anything specific I should be looking for when looking to buy this bike? Thanks. |

I would check the feed and return lines to the oil cooler. Probably just need to be tightened. |
