Here's the prob. I turned my XB keyswitch one click past fork lock and engaged the parking light circuit. It was on long enough to kill the battery's charge. Anyone got a sanitary way to defeat this "feature"?

Not a way to defeat. That feature is designed to let you be seen while sitting parked. I've used this position to mark where I was, on the side of the road, so late afternoon traffic didn't run me over while putting on a rain suit. Use this position to ensure that you are in steering lock, then rotate back 1 click to turn the lights back off.

If none of the XB guys come along. Go to HRHD and get a manual if you haven't already. This is just a cut of a wire.

BTW...

... if you have to pull over on the side of the road... pull way over, into the grass if you have to. Never stop on a highway you can't pull way, way off of if you can help it.

Sure do.

Look to see if your instrument and parking lights are on and if the answer is yes then turn the key back one notch
