OK, so I have yet another problem that may be causing more (yeah). I noticed yesterday that the front motor mount on my 99 X1 cracked and broken free on the right break pedal side. Anyone know how much one of these things cost and how hard is it to fix? Also, would JB Weld fix something like this? Thanks. | ||

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I think more often the head itself fails where the bolt goes in, rather than the bracket itself. JB weld would be a bad idea. If it is, in fact, just the bracket, there is a billet one available. although its kinda pricey. There should be used stock ones floating around from people who've bought the billet one. | ||

S&S Motors makes a nice engine mount. And, yeah, check both bolts carefully going into the front cylinder. The broken mounts seem to have been preceded by the bolt on the unbroken side breaking off first as noted by Sportyeric. Your engine might in fact be resting it's front rocker cover on the bike frame. | ||

DOH!!! I just got off the phone with the dealer here, about $65 for the bracket, new, and I am sure some pain. Any suggestions on fixing this in the car port would be appreciated. Thanks. | ||

Support bottom of motor with a jack and unbolt the bolts--1 up to top isolator and 2 into head.Not too bad. | ||

Ed I would recommended getting new bolts(3) and washers. Inspect the rest of the mounting system. Swing are isolators and the upper mount. It's winter so it should be too hot there?  Joe | ||
